Pilot Training is one tool to increase flight safety, but only with the right stuff you are able to reach the excellence. A cost effective pilot selection based on scientific and well-tried methods is a vital part of the competition in the open sky.

APTITUDE TEST

Written aptitude tests in large groups to measure basic skills in problem solving, perceptual speed, spatial ability, short term memory etc. Candidates unable to pass this step are excluded from the further process.

The written Aptitude Tests cover dimensions such as:

 

  • Technical Comprehension

  • Perceptual Speed and Accuracy

  • Instrument Reading

  • Logical Ability

  • Spatial Ability

  • Short Term Memory

  • Numerical Understanding

COMPUTER BASED PILOT ABILITY TESTS

 Our Computer Based PAT measures:

  • Operational Speed and Quality

  • Simultaneous Capacity

  • Vigilance and Alertness

  • Power of decision

  • Resistance to stress

   The Computer Based Instrument Reading and Spatial Orientation Test      (PIRSOT) measures:

  • Perceptual speed

  • Perceptual precision and accuracy

  • Spatial orientation

  • Vigilance

  • Divided attention

INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS

Individual interviews are dynamic examinations where personality data are added and evaluated in relation to skills and capacities. This step examines particularly dimensions such as ability to make decisions, responsibility, power of action, social competence, and leadership potentials. The outcomes clearly shows the strengths and weaknesses of the candidate’s ability to handle the demanding on flight deck.

We perform dynamic assessments, i.e. no single test or assessment is a sole determining factor. Data are put in relation to each other to provide a good understanding of all the candidate’s abilities and an individual and dynamic profile is created for each pilot, experienced as well as ab initio candidate.

Our prognosis are based on an evaluation of candidates’ current skills and abilities. However, it also includes an analysis of candidates’ future potentials to become Captains.
